Product description

Brine Seaborne is a girl with a past – if only she knew what it was. Found abandoned in a rowboat as an infant, clutching a rare magical starshell, she was taken in by a grumpy magician. Good guy? Nope. She’s spent every day since doing his dusting. But then – oops! – Brine and the magician’s apprentice, Peter, break the rare starshell. Now they must flee. Where will they end up? Um… lost at sea aboard the legendary pirate ship, The Onion! Before you can say ‘pieces of eight,’ they’re up to their necks in a pirate quest to find Magical North: a place so shrouded in myth that most people don’t even think it exists. If Brine is lucky, she might find out who her parents are and how she ended up on that rowboat. If she’s unlucky, they’ll all be eaten by sea monsters. It really could go either way…

  • A rip-roaring pirate quest full of myth and magic
  • Fans of How to Train Your Dragon will love this
  • A tale of friendship, danger and the power of stories
  • Easy to read yet bursting with action, wit and fun

“A rollicking adventure with a nice balance of danger, excitement and humour.” Bookbag

“Full of adventure, this is one book you won’t be able to put down.” The Week Junior
