Product description

The stonking new Alex Rider blockbuster. Targeted by a hitman and hounded by the media, Alex reluctantly turns to MI6. But their help doesn’t come cheap. They want Alex to spy on a GM crop plant with sinister secret connections. And when Alex runs into Desmond Cain, a high-profile charity organiser, Cain realises that Alex is onto his real plans for the money he’s raising. Kidnapped and held hostage in Africa, Alex learns the full horror of Cain’s plot: to create an epic disaster that will kill millions. But when getting word to MI6 goes terribly wrong, Alex must also stop his own side before they unwittingly trigger the death of a whole nation…

    Review of Crocodile Tears

Crocodile tears is a very excellent book and is highly explosive. I wouldn't describe this book as Alex Rider's most dangerous mission, yet this book keeps you intrigued right from the very start. From the very first chapter, you want to read on to find out why the person in the first chapter just commited what he did. Later in the book, it all becomes clear and you go, "Ahh!" In this book, the story includes very many facts about GM crops and how they are made and other facts about various subjects. I'm sorry, though, Anthony Horowitz, but the Cherub series is better all round.
Lately I have been reading the Andy McNab series for children and they are very factual and very educational, and also the storylines are unexpectant, whereas the Alex Rider series are always going to end in the same way. The book makes out that Alex Rider is invincible, if you want a little hint there. The story endings are a little unexpectant, but you never expect one of the main characters to get killed, always the bad guys. JP x

I think crocodile tears is a great book. My favourite character in it is probably Leonard Straik.
