Product description
In the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, Robbie McLeod is on the run from the English Redcoats. On his furtive travels he finds a tiny wolf cub – and a sign proclaiming the killing of the last wolf in Scotland. Immediately identifying with the abandoned orphan, Robbie adopts the cub, and a powerful loyalty grows between them. But when Robbie flees his homeland and seeks his fortune in the New World, has the time come for the wolf to find a newer, freer home too? Written by Michael Morpurgo and illustrated by Michael Foreman, this gem of a story sweeps readers from eighteenth century Europe right across the Atlantic.
“A vibrant tale that brings a slice of history to life” Times Educational Supplement

on 24 February 2011I didn’t like the book because I found it a little bit emotional. I did like the illustrations. This book is perfect for 7 year old on up.
There was a lot of sadness in this book and for me, I just didn’t like it. As soon as I saw the title and saw it was about an orphan, I didn’t want to read it but my parents asked me to (more like forced me to!). I was glad I did read it as it is different from what I am used to reading.
It is a good book, but not for me.
