Product description
The second book in the latest series from international bestselling author, Rick Riordan
He was once an immortal God, now he’s an awkward teenager. Things aren’t going well for Apollo.
There’s only one way he can earn back Zeus’ favour, and that’s to seek and restore the ancient oracles – but that’s easier said than done.
Apollo must head to the American Midwest where, rumour has it, a haunted cave may hold answers.
There are a few things standing in his way though. The cave could kill him, or drive him insane.
Oh, and a Roman Emperor, whose love of bloodshed makes Nero look tame.
To stay alive, Apollo needs the help of a mortal goddess, a bronze dragon, and some familiar faces from Camp Half-Blood.
Will he survive the greatest challenge of his four thousand year existence?More books by Rick Riordan:

This is my favorite RR book. It has a lot of character development in it, with both Apollo and Meg. Also, in the climax instead of worming or fighting their way out they did a lot of selfless actions that melted my heart. It’s CRAMMED with funny quotes and statements.
” ‘Oh!’ I said. ‘Um…nah.’ I leaned against the wall, hoping to look casual, attractive and suave. Unfortunately, I missed the wall.”
“I tried to think of a brilliant plan. Unfortunately, the only thing that came to mind was weeping in terror.”
“We only fail when we stop trying.”
“I remember something Marcus Aurelius used to tell his son, a quote that later became famous in his Meditations book: Think of yourself as dead. You have lived your life. Now, take what’s left and live it properly. What doesn’t transmit light creates its own darkness.”
“Everything living deserves a chance to grow.”
“Ever since my famous battle with Python, I’ve had a phobia of scaly reptilian creatures. (Especially if you include my stepmother, Hera. BOOM!)”
” ‘Cool. I’m Leo. And, uh…’ He pointed at me. ‘I understand you can, like, control this guy?’ I cleared my throat. ‘We merely cooperate! I’m not controlled by anyone. Right, Meg?’ ‘Slap yourself,’ Meg commanded. I slapped myself.”
