I read this book in Year 5 when I was learning about the war in History. The book is a bit sad because the mother is mean to the boy Willie.

I absolutely LOVED this book the first time my Dad read it to me when I was seven! Now I have read it many times on my own, and watched the film at least three times! I’d recommend this to anyone 9+, because it can be scary in places.
