Product description

Driftwood by Cathy Cassidy is a touching, utterly brilliant novel for girls aged 9+

‘I feel like I’m losing my best mate . . .’

Hannah and Joey have been best friends forever – just the two of them. But when Joey’s new foster brother, Paul, turns up, everything changes. First Joey falls for Hannah’s brother, Kit. Then Paul complicates things – with some kittens, a chocolate bar and a stripy pink bicycle.

Hannah’s world is turning upside down. Can you rescue a friendship when it’s drowning? Can you save a friend in trouble – if they don’t want to be saved?

Can Hannah stop her friends from drifting apart?

‘Touching, tender and unforgettable’ – Guardian ‘Cassidy’s characters have real heart’ – Sunday Telegraph ‘Cathy Cassidy . . . is way better than Jacqueline Wilson’ – Courtney, aged 10

Amazing I absolutely loved it,at first I wasn’t sure if I liked it but after about Page 20 I regretted not reading it before. This book was great but sad,we’ll not sad just… emotional when Kit turns on Paul I feel as if I could punch Kit, I thought that he had just lost a really cool, unique ,funny, caring soon to be friend!

This is a good book about first love, friendship and bullying. I really enjoyed reading it. It is about Hannah and how she copes when her brother starts dating her best friend. Suddenly she finds herself alone at lunch and she has no one to talk to. She ends up friends with Paul a foster kid who is currently living with Joey Hannah’s best friend’s family. Great read for ages 12+
