Timesaver for Exams: IELTS Voc
The book I've got in my hands is something a lot of teachers have been waiting for. Photocopiable material preparing students for IELTS (5.5 - 7.5) is divided into three parts: Vocabulary for Reading, Writing and Speaking. In each part teachers and students will find a wide range of vocabulary related to topics common in the IELTS Academic test, learning strategies and exam tips on how to work out the meaning of unknown words from the context, how to deal with exam tasks or what to do if you don't know much about the question you are asked to answer. The material is presented in an interesting and clear way.
I used the book both with groups of up to 17 students and in 1-2-1 lessons. Teachers can use the book as some extra material during lessons, but also as the consolidation and/or homework.
The minor drawback of the book is the fact that it includes few teachers’ notes on how to use the activities. However, that’s the way the Timesaver series are designed and we all love them!
I highly recommend the book to all teachers working with IELTS classes.
