Product description

Colourful birds in the sky point the way to a paradise that Red and Scarlet dream of: Trinidad… Picture the dream: Scarlet and Red rocking in a little boat, watching the scarlet ibis fly to the Caroni Swamp in Trinidad. It’s their favourite bedtime story. Now here’s the reality: grimy old London. Being taken away from Mum. Being split up and placed with different foster families. Scarlet must get Red back. He’s autistic; he can’t manage without her. If only, like the birds, she could grow wings and find her little brother again… Want to set your spirit free? Read this soaring tale of hope and love from the Sky Hawk author. Lying in the gutter but looking at the stars? That’s these two troubled kids.

Nominated for the Carnegie Medal 2015.
