Product description
‘Has the power to move hearts and change minds’ Guardian
‘Tremendously uplifting and a novel of all-too-rare power’ Sunday Express
‘An amazing book . . . I absolutely loved it. I cried my eyes out’ Tom Fletcher
Read the award-winning, multi-million copy bestselling phenomenon that is WONDER in this new tenth anniversary edition.
‘My name is August. I won’t describe what I look like. Whatever you’re thinking, it’s probably worse.’
Auggie wants to be an ordinary ten-year-old. He does ordinary things – eating ice cream, playing on his Xbox. He feels ordinary – inside. But ordinary kids don’t make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. Ordinary kids aren’t stared at wherever they go.
Born with a terrible facial abnormality, Auggie has been home-schooled by his parents his whole life. Now, for the first time, he’s being sent to a real school – and he’s dreading it. All he wants is to be accepted – but can he convince his new classmates that he’s just like them, underneath it all?
A funny, frank, astonishingly moving debut – and a true global phenomenon – to read in one sitting, pass on to others, and remember long after the final page.

on 7 March 2014“It’s like people you see sometimes, and you can’t imagine what it would be like to be that person, whether it’s somebody in a wheelchair or somebody who can’t talk. Only, I know that I’m that person to other people, maybe to every single person in that whole auditorium. To me, though, I’m just me. An ordinary kid.” ― R.J. Palacio, Wonder
A sweet, heartwarming story that will bring the toughest readers to the brink of tears. Loved this book.

on 7 March 2014This book should be read by all children and adults, and definitely studied in schools. There are so many beautiful narratives and teachings points that we can learn from. Palacio has written a truly brilliant book I’m sure will stand the test of time and has the potential to be adapted into many things.

on 7 March 2014This book was beautifully written and built suspense page by page! I think bullying should stop and i felt very sorry for poor Auggie. I can’t imagined being home schooled but i guess it felt normal. I feel very lucky to have so many amazing wonderful friends, this book was really heart-warming!

on 4 March 2014This author is wonderful at bringing stories to life. She uses real life issues that help you to put yourself in each character’s shoes. A humourous book, written from different people’s prospectives, which makes It a truly captivating story. Great job, Palacio

on 19 May 2013This book is absalotely fantastic. It’s very sad though. In parts of the book I nearly cried. Auggie wants to be normal and not get stared at but his friends do it anyway. Auggie does make friends though and ends up happy. READ THIS BOOK :)
