Midnight: a mist-haunted wood with a bad reputation. A sweet sixteen party, and thirteen-year-old Nell is trying to keep her sister, spoilt birthday-girl Gwen, out of trouble. No chance. Trouble finds Gwen and drags her through the mist. Only Nell guesses who’s behind the kidnap – the boy she hoped was her friend, the gorgeous but mysterious Evan River.
Evan is no ordinary boy – he has a secret which will lead Nell to question everything she has always learned from her grandmother’s stories. Evan lives on the fringes of Nell’s world, rarely glimpsed, misunderstood and feared, but a long-simmering showdown between the two worlds is looming …

on 5 September 2011Amazing and adventurous
Mist was an amazing, exciting and adventurous book. It was very descriptive and it straight away drew you in. There were times where you just couldn't stop reading and wanted to carry on to find out what happens next! The plot is very well thought out and luring. The ending leaves you on a very daunting cliff hanger, when you finish reading you just wish there was more and more! The characters are so interesting, you could almost feel like you know them as real people. Through out most of the book I could really feel the emotion of the characters and I could fully understand what was going on. I would recommend this book to everyone because it has romance, partial horror, a bit of comedy and loads of fantasy. It was great to read!

Amazing
The beginning was really cool and Evan seemed rather mysterious and different just like Nell said. Rikstall on the other hand seemed rather scary and one of them wanna be gangster people or a bully sort of person. However, he seemed rather hopeless when his dog didn't obey him.
I understand why Nell hung out near the mist but if I was her I wouldnt really go into it as much ; it would be kind of too scary. On Gwen's party it was kind of weird how the story about the Elven King was true , I mean you can figure that out afterwards cause of what happens what firstly it seems just like an ordinary tale.
Overall I think that this book was amazing and I cant wait to get my hands on "FROST" which is a sequel to "MIST" that comes out in 2012.
