PM Emerald: Food We Eat: Then and Now (PM Guided Reading Non-fiction) Level 26

In the past, people had to grow and make a lot of their own food. They could only buy products that were available locally. These days, technology and living in a multicultural society mean that there are many different foods for us to taste and enjoy.

Emerald level (equivalent to the Lime bridging book band) provides a variety of chapter books and non-fiction titles. Readers are encouraged to experience different text types, writing styles and genres to develop their own reading tastes.

PM Guided Reading Non-fiction books are fascinating texts that increase in word count and pages in line with progression of children’s reading age, for appropriate literacy skills development. The books represent all the standard text types and contain literal, inferential and applied knowledge questions to test comprehension and promote discussion.
