PM Emerald: The Nightingale (PM Plus Chapter Books) Level 26

In an ancient land, a king is enchanted by a nightingale’s song, and wonders that such a plain little bird can sing so beautifully. People from all over the world come to hear her sing. One day, the king receives a mechanical bird made of gold and jewels, which sings the same beautiful song as the nightingale. He is fascinated by the mechanical bird and ignores the nightingale, which flies away. However, the king learns that there are more important things than gold and jewels.

Emerald level (equivalent to the Lime bridging book band) provides a variety of chapter books and non-fiction titles. Readers are encouraged to experience different text types, writing styles and genres to develop their own reading tastes.

PM Plus Chapter Books (levels 25–30) provide a selection of stories chosen for their broad range of content, characters, topics and points of view. The high-interest topics include adventure, emergencies, natural disasters, risk-taking, historical events and investigation.
