Frequently Asked Questions

How can I register for each event?

Click the Register button on each event you’d like to attend and you will be directed to a Crowdcast event page. Please enter the event password listed on the event page and then enter your email address to save your spot – you will then receive an email confirmation.

Please note, you will need to save your spot at each event separately and each user logging in will need to use a separate email address to register. We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser.

I am already registered on the Scholastic website. Do I need to register again for the events?

Yes, the Crowdcast website is separate to the Scholastic website, so you will need to register your email address there too in order to save your spot.

Can I share the event information with other staff members?

Yes, please feel free to share the registration links and password!

Can more than one user be logged into the same Crowdcast account?

No, we ask that each audience member logging in registers their own email address. You can, however, share your screen with others.

How long will each event last?

Unless otherwise specified, each event will last one hour.

Will I be able to ask questions during the session?

Yes, and we encourage them to do so! Please send any questions to email.scholastic@scholastic.co.uk in advance, and we will pass these along to the event hosts. Be sure to include a reference to the event title in the subject line of your email!

Will the webinar show closed captions?

We know how important closed captions are for greater accessibility, and Crowdcast are working on implementing this but it is not available at the moment.

However, Live Captions are now available for Google Chrome users. When enabled, Live Captions automatically appear in a small, moveable box at the bottom of your browser when you’re watching or listening to a piece of content where people are talking. Words appear after a slight delay and captions will even appear with muted audio or your volume turned down. Live Captions can be enabled in the latest version of Chrome by going to Settings, then the “Advanced” section, and then “Accessibility.” (If you’re not seeing the feature, try manually updating and restarting your browser.) When you toggle them on, Chrome will quickly download some speech recognition files, and then captions should appear the next time your browser plays audio where people are talking.
