The differences between boys and girls, both in development and in attitudes to learning, are well documented. A formalised early curriculum tends to emphasise these differences. The ability of most girls to meet learning goals at an earlier age may result in a tendency to teach boys to learn like girls, instead of recognising their unique gifts and abilities.
