Jacqueline Wilson

Jacqueline Wilson was born in Bath in 1945, but spent most of her childhood in Kingston-on-Thames. She always wanted to be a writer and wrote her first “novel” when she was nine, filling countless Woolworths’ exercise books as she grew up. Since having her daughter, Emma, she has been writing full time.

Her insightful and emotionally challenging books not only stretch reading ability, but give young readers a glimpse into many kinds of lives. Smart girls, strong girls, bad girls, brave girls. Girls keeping their families going, girls trying to get away… Jacqueline Wilson’s written about them all! These powerful stories of plucky girls in difficult circumstances won’t fail to strike a chord.

She has written over 70 best-selling books, and several have even been adapted for TV – most famously The Story of Tracy Beaker. Her signing sessions attract huge crowds of fans and last for hours! Over 25 million copies of her books have now been sold in the UK alone.

In 2007 Jacky Daydream was published, an inspirational true story of how a shy schoolgirl became a superstar author. This was followed by My Secret Diary, a captivating account of Jacky’s teenage years.

In June 2002 Jacqueline was given an OBE for services to literacy in schools, and she was the Children’s Laureate from 2005-2007. She also became a Dame in December 2007.

Nick Sharratt

Nick Sharratt needs little introduction with books going down a storm time and time again. He has written and illustrated many books for children, and also enjoys great success illustrating books for Jacqueline Wilson and Jeremy Strong.

He was born in 1962 and trained at the St Martin’s School of Art. Inspired by 1960s pop and graphic art, his work is instantly recognisable for its bold images and punchy colours. With lots of moving tabs, flaps to lift and other interactive features, as well as exciting wordplay and cheeky humour, Nick’s books let children discover all the different ways in which books and words can work.

He lives and works in Brighton, in a studio overlooking the sea.

I want to read it all in the internet but I can’t found it :( I’m so boring :(((( I have to wait some days to go to the library and get it :) As much as I have read the book look so good!    This is the best book ever! It’s nice and short so it can’t possibly get boring – (and it couldn’t possibly get boring anyway because it is phenomenal!) and it reminds me of my primary school friends and our birthday parties! I love Jaquline Wilson books!

    This is a great book it has lots of friends and party’s the blond girl her name is Chloe bees mean to the new girl in the gang at the parties and that it’s a great book and the new girl is called daisy and her sister Lilly has problems she’s in a wee. Chair and daisy think her friends will laugh at Lilly it’s a really good book.

    This book is a vary good book I think it is for younger children not older I really like the sleepovers bit and I would definitely recommend it in the future.if you like sleepovers I would say read this book, it is one of the best books I have had this bok for ages.

    This book is very short but sweet, so it’s more for younger readers instead of older ones!! It is very good though and you can picture yourself in daisy’s position and what it’s like to be her, as the story is very realistic.

    This book is about a girl called Daisy who is next to host a very popular, demanding sleepover with all her friends, but he only thing she is worried about is how are her friends going to react to one of her disabled best friends, will they tease her or will they laugh at Daisy? Daisy will just have to hope for the best!

    This is a great read!! Xx

    This book is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its a 5 star for me!!!!!!!!!! The main character Daisy,just started her new school. And when she formed the alphabet club, things didnt go to well…................................. its Chloe you see she horrible Daisy just wants Emily as her friend but thats Chloes BFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when Chloe meets Daisys sister things dont go too well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    When i was reading this book it was fun that everyone was having a sleepover it was sad that the sister of daisy the main character was not normal but for the other things it was perfect. Infact i want to say to Jacquelin wilson my favourite author keep on:)

    This is anothor one of Jacqueline wilson’s good books. It is about 5 girls named Amy, Bella, Chloe, Daisy and Emily. Amy, Bella , Chloe and Emily have sleepovers for thier birthday Daisy wants one but the other girls will have to meet her sister who is disabeld.

    This book is about a girl named Daisy who is new at a school. She hangs round with four girls named Emily, Chloe, Bella and Amy. They all are called the Alphabet girls and have sleepover partys at each others birthdays. Though Daisy is unsure if she can have a sleepover…as her new friends haven’t met her sister!!

    I remember getting sleepovers fromt the school library, and finding it appealling because of the cover, and realising as I got into the story that there is alot more to a book than what is shown on the front. I thought although it was funny and creative and intersting to see all the different birthday parties, there was an important message imbedded into the story. And what is that? I think it’s that just because one person is new into a group, or isn’t like everyone else, it doesen’t make them a bad person, and you should pay them respect, and have the decency to get to know them before you judge them. Really good read.

    my sister loved this book and i thought it must’ve been good because my sister had read it, the person that was out to burn all books, and loved it. i tried it and it was good and very interesting but it wasn’t for me. i would reccommend it to anyone who is crazy about the jaqueline wilson books or is a bi of a girly girl, but would warn all adventure seekers away from it it just isnt for us.

    This book is fab! It is about a girl called Daisy and all her friends (Emily, Bella, Amy and Chole) are having a sleepover for their birthday. Daisy wants to have a sleepover too but she thinks that her friends will laugh at her disabled older sister lily not only that she hasn’t found a best friend yet and badly wants Emily but she is Choles best friend and Daisy starts to hate Chole. I would recommend it to 7-8 year olds

    I tought it was super duper best book i’ve read in ages I cant really say how much i love Sleepovers because there is not one to descripe it Super duper. I’ve read it thousands of times and i mean thousands GREAT. I loved Daisy but i hated Chloe Bella was really funny. My favourite thing about the book was when Chloe wet her pants in Daisys house. I thought when chloe put lots of anchovies on Daisys pizza .super.

    Sleepovers is a great book.I read it when i was 8 and now i’m encouraging my 6 -year-old sister to read it. I felt realy sorry for Daisy because Chloe was so mean. I don’t think anything’s wrong with being disabled so Daisy shouldn’t be ashamed.i’d read it if i was u!
