Product description

Evacuated from London, David and Tucky feel as if the war is a long way away from their new life in the countryside. But one night the skyline of the moor is lit up with gun flashes, and the distant crump of bombing shatters their new-found peace. Then a German bomber crashes. The boys expect to hate the airmen inside. But things get complicated when one of them saves David’s life… This gripping wartime tale from a master author shows how good and evil are never black and white.

This book is one of the best books I have ever read. It really brings to life what happened to evacuees in the Second World War but what also happened to the German pilots that were shot down. I really enjoyed this book. Five stars from me.

I have read Friend or Foe loads of times, and every time I read it I always get scared at the scary parts, I always get happy at the happy parts, I always get sad at the sad parts, and of course I always get excited at the exciting parts! This book is one of Michael Morpurgo’s best, although this book is not for the fainthearted.

I think this book is quite fantastic because the story is very touching an moving. I read this book a long time ago at primary school and would definitely recommend this book to someone who likes something different. This book really gets you into the mood. And I would also like to say this book is great for an imaginative person or for someone who’d like a change.
