When the doorbell rings at three in the morning, it’s never good news.

After his guardian dies in suspicious circumstances, fourteen-year-old Alex Rider finds his world turned upside down. Forcibly recruited into MI6 as its youngest ever spy, he is sent off to Cornwall to face his first adversary – Middle Eastern multi-billionaire Herod Sayle, inventor of the space-age Stormbreaker computer. The computer is about to be given free to every school in the country, but there’s more to the gift than meets the eye. In Herod Sayle’s den, surrounded by enemies, Alex is in mortal danger. What if his first mission turns out to be his last? First in a storming series of bestsellers about teenage spy Alex Rider.

Alex Rider Stormbreaker is an exciting, absorbing book to read. The moment I read that Alex was a spy for MI5 I knew I was going to enjoy the book. As I read, I loved the book so much that I couldn’t stop reading it. I had fun reading the wonderful descriptions not only of the people but also of the cool vehicles. Reading it was a great experience and I have learnt a lot from it. The entire adventure of Alex and Herod Sayle and the way Alex finds out the truth of Sayle was amazing. The way Alex manages to escape is also unbelievable.Alex Rider Stormbreaker is a fantastic book and I would recommend it to anyone reading this.

The MI6 pressurize him to continue his uncle’s work. He refuses but is threatened that his housekeeper jack starbright would be deported as her visa has expired. He goes undercover as a student to Sayle enterprises where he spies on Herod Sayle. After a lot of action he manages to stop Sayle from murdering thousands of British students. Absolutely amazing.

Alex Rider is a daring 14 year old spy working for MI6. Strangely though, he wished he could be a normal school boy. This book is exciting, thrilling and ideal for older readers. 10/10!

14 year-old Alex Rider is alone. Apart from his housekeeper Jack that is. What will happen to Alex? And why has that millionaire given a promise for computers for every school in the country for free?

Completely changes the spy genre, and makes it more suitable for younger readers with a younger sense of humour. And not even a bit corny

This is beyond the best book ever written! I totally LOVED IT!!! I have watched the films again and again and again (it doesn’t take as long as reading the book) but I still love the book more (although Alex Pettyfer does make a good Alex Rider ;) if you know what I mean) Totally recommend this book and the whole series.

I really enjoyed reading this book, especially seen as I didn’t watch the movie. I remember taking it out a year after the movie came out, which turned out to be several years after the actual book came out. So as a strong believer of: ‘Books are usually better than the films!’ (with a few exceptions) I decided to take a chance with the book ,and then rent the movie. And after the first couple of chapters, I was hooked. Alex Rider is 14 in this book, and we are told that his Uncle has died, Alex finds clues, that might suggest that he had been murdered. :P I can’t give too much away :(.....but definitely a good read!
